Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
My friend was detained and sent to central booking. He then saw the judge. The initial charges where dropped but then they said that he had an unspecified warrant? Can they keep him in jail ?

If they do actually have a warrant for him he can be held even if the initial arrest was unlawful,
