Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
My friend received a letter from the erie co. (ny) d.a. stating that she was convicted of a crime (petit larceny) back in apr of 2009 and that she has to come in for a dna swab...this is not her...what should she do?

Assuming that someone impersonated her, she should contact the DA's office and tell them that. She should offer to be fingerprinted to clear it up. She should not let this go or else she will have a criminal conviction on her record and could cause many problems in the future and if the impersonator is still use her name she could have more criminal problems.
