Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

My friend had a relation with his business partner only for 14months,they are both married but not happy.They found each other & love each other but she cheated my friend she took his all the money,used all credit cards & sold the business without paying him, now my friend is penny less. He sued her for the business but what about his life ? from six months he is with psychiatric, he is taking sleeping pills and stays always in deprecation !

Now for his mentally peace, he wants to send by email or mail to her husband,friends & family all the love pictures,voice mail & her story what she did with him & others. ( he found she did it with other 2 person same thing ) Her family doesn't know anything about it,but they knew little bit about my friend, not surely.He thinks if he don't do that she will do it again & again.

My question is, if my friend does that it will be a crime ?

If he uses it to extort anything from the other person or her family, that is a crime. To just send the pictures and a letter with no ulterior motive is legal but if you want your lawsuit to survive is not recommended.
