Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Hello,

I have a general question . A few years back my brother was imprisoned sent upstate. He and his co-defendants coped out to five years but an additional two years was added to his sentence. Davon Wright (my brother) didn't report to sentencing. After several rescheduled hearings, Davon was advised by a court officer that would wouldn't have to appear in front of the judge. He would be able to have a video chat with the judge while on Rikers. He has served three years out of a seven year conviction. How can he serve the remaining time on the street? He has not gotten into any trouble and is currently working on obtaining his GED.Is there any motions or appeals we can file to lessen his sentence.? What can I do to help him?Thanking you in advance for your assistance in this matter.

Yours Truly,

Ms.Naqueisha Wright

I see your brother was convicted of attempted murder and served almost three years before sentencing. The only thing that may be done is to try to vacated the plea and sentence and try for a better deal, but he may end up worse. If you wish to discuss it with me call me at 917-225-6983.
