Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Geographical jurisdiction of county courts within new York state?
I will begin probation after I am
sentenced next week for a ''E'' felony.
A common probation term is that a
person cannot leave the jurisdiction of
the court however I have had
conflicting answers regarding whether
a county court's jurisdiction ends at
the county line or extends throughout
new York state.
Now of course I will discuss the matter
with the probation department and my
lawyer.
However does anyone have a
comment regarding where a county
court's jurisdiction ends in new York
state?
