Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Good Morning. My friend is being charged with CRIM POSS CONTRL SUBST-1ST A Felony. In addition to that, I know there were a handful of weapons found in his NY home. The substance that was found was Oxycotin. He has a prior jail time of a year for an escape charge many years ago. What kind of prison time is he looking at? A rough estimate please.

If the drug charge was based on an addiction he may be eligible for a drug diversion court. The weapons charges, depending on the severity, may be a violent charge and may end up being more serious than the drug charges. A lot more information is needed before an estimate of his jail time or plea bargain options is given. An AII felony has a sentence range of 3 to 10 or 6 to 14 depending on his prior record. Please feel free to call the office if we can be of any further assistance.
