Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Hi, I just graduated undergrad this past school year in 2011. I graduated with a 3.0 GPA and a loaded resume. I have a BS in marketing and minor in management. I�ve worked a part time job for all four years of college and accomplished two internships. One internship was marketing related while the other was more closely related to law. The position was unpaid and for the state I live in division of human rights. I spent a lot of time reviewing and analyzing cases and dealing with a lot of "hands-on" professional level work. Along with work I served in many clubs at my school; I worked my way up to becoming president of the marketing club and Vice President of Professional Activities for the Professional Business Fraternity. I decided to take a year off for work experience and to prepare for law school. I took the LSAT�s and received a 156 this summer. I plan on taking the LSAT�s one more time this October and applying come November. Now with all of this said, there�s just one thing. My junior year in college I did a really stupid thing and I�m worried that it may hinder my chance of getting into law school. I committed a petit larceny. I got a lawyer and went to court. Since my record was clear and I have never caused any trouble before I was offered ADC and I had to do 16 hours of community service. Since this past February my case has been dismissed. Will this prevent any chance of me getting into law school?

It will not preclude you from getting into law school. Upon admission to the bar and perhaps law school, you may be asked if you have evr been arrested. You will then have to explain the circumstances.
