Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Grounds for Reversing a Verdict or Mistrial.

A 31 year old predator attacked my 15 year old daughter. Grand jury charged him with 14 counts- 6 felonies and 8 misdemeanors. He was found not guilty by a jury. However 4 jurors gave in after 2 days of deliberations- can this verdict ever be reversed? Also his only witness lied to the ADA- is there any recourse?

Re: Grounds for Reversing a Verdict or Mistrial.

You can speak with the prosecutor on the case but due to the Double Jeopardy provisions in the 5th Amendment to the US Constitution and NY Constitutions, the criminal avenue is most likely done. Depending, however, on when the action allegedly occurred, you may be able to pursue some recourse in a civil court for monetary damages.
