Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

gun charge

my husband is currently on parole and is currently in jail for a loaded gun. his case has been adjourned for 5 months now and i need to know why is that a good or bad thing? they didn't offer him no time yet. I'm really worry about this matter because he just came home after doing 12 years. i want to know how can i help my husband being that he's on a 75,000 bail and we are not rich people so we can't afford a real attorney. his next court date is august 29 of 2007. i really want to help my husband get through this. What i don't understand is that another thing being that he's on parole he already went to his hearing and he only has to give them one year. he has 3 less than 3 years to be finish with his parole.please i need a complete answer on to what might happen.thank you

Re: gun charge

Ok lets begin with the lawyer thing. Your free lawyer, is not a bad lawyer; Legal aid Society lawyers are the most dedicated and well trained lawyers in the courthouse. Unfortunately they are really overworked. If you can

afford a lawyer of your own, be sure to interview him for the job and get the answers to important questions that could affect your relationship with that lawyer down the line.

Good luck.
