Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
My handyman stole a pool table from me and sold it to a dealer for $2000. The dealer has been located and did not realize he purchased stolen property. If i Press charges and have my handyman arrested, i believe the polce will return the table to me. How does this affect the dealer? Is he out the $2000 he paid the handyman?

He is out the $2,000. Even if the dealer is an innocent victim, it is still your property. He would have to try to get his money back from the handyman.
