what could happen

I reside at my moms house. thats my place of residence. I have a girlfriend I've been with for 7yr. well we broke up and i want my 42''hd tv back. If I have the person who sold it to me give me a reciept can I be at her house and take it home with me to my house with out trouble from police. She wants to sell it to her cousint and its not hers. what can I do please help.

You can take her to small claims court and sue her for the value of the tv or its return. You need to be aware that you will have to demonstrate that you did not purchase it to be a gift but only to have it and you decided to use it at her place since you spent the majority of your time there.
