Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Harassment Question in regard to a minor
My daughter is 14. A boy asked her to be his girlfriend numerous times, which she declined. The boy became mad and started text messaging her, calling her a whore and created a blog, trying to make her character look bad. He has discussed with her friends which he was part of the group, trying to make her into a troublemaker because he was not happy that she would not date him and just wanted to be friends. He has now brought the situation into the school the attend and has tried to sway people away from her and has attacked her verbally in school, calling her ''HO'', whore, bitch and other derogatory statements. The school does not want to entertain the issue and has only talked with the boy. The issue continues even after discussions with the principal and the boys parent, whom is a police officer. What can we do about this situation?

Re: Harassment Question in regard to a minor
As self promoting as this may sound . . . get yourself a lawyer. The school has a responsibility to your daughter. This is more than a mere annoyance, it is something which can be(or perhaps already is) an impediment to your daughter's ability to receive a proper education.
Call an attorney and make an appointment to discuss this matter as soon as possible.
