Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Harassment and Verbal Threats

My 16 year old daughter works at a local Pathmark. I went to pick her up last night. While waiting out front, an employee came out and told me I cannot be parked in a fire zone. I told him I was not parked, I was STANDING. He started cursing at me...yelling...saying curses against my mother (she was not there)...telling me to get out of the car so he can slam me into the ground...if I would not get out he would pull me out. Another employee who witnessed this (and who I believe has a mental disability - he is in charge of bringing in the shopping carts) came over and pulled this guy away from my car. I called the manager and told him what happened. He said he would get to the bottom of it. Both my wife and I are now afraid to go back here OR let our daughter work there - even though she still will be working there...we are worried that this lunatic might do something. Do I have any legal recourse against Pathmark for the harassment he caused and, now, the fear of going back there?

Re: Harassment and Verbal Threats

No I dont see any recourse. Unfortunately the law cannot remedy every one of life's problems. I agree that with a lunatic working at your grocery store no one in your family should return, especially since you know of the dangererous person.
