Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Harboring a Fugative
My husband always has warrants for his arrest. He always wants me to tell the cops that he is not home when he really is. Can I be arrested for harboring a fugative or does it have to be a felony charge?

Re: Harboring a Fugative
There does not have to be a felony charge, other charges may be proper also such as obstruction of justice and interference with a police investigation, that being said this usually does not happen. The better approach would be to hire an attorney to clear up the arrest warrant on behlaf of your husband so that you no longer have to worry about this situation.
