Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
I am being harrassed via email and text messages by my lovers wife and she came to my house once. Can I get a restraining order on her?

Well you can certainly try. However, whether or not you are successful is dependent upon a number of factors, such as how many emails she has sent over how long a period of time, were these messages threatening and disrupttive. When she came to your house, did she threaten you and were you in fear of bodily harm. These are the things that the court will want to know as facts when they are deciding whether or not to issue a restraining order.
