Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Hello,
My name is Chris and I am inquiring about a situation that happened some time ago.
When I was younger, I had commited an E Class Felony in New york state.
It was supposed to be adjudicated under Youth Status 17 years ago.
However when I have gone through a fingerprinting process for a civil service position, it is showing as the offense in question dated 1992.
I have had numerous positions before, including COMSEC clearance for a government defense contractor.
What has happened to cause this and what could I do ?

You have to go to the court and pull the file to see if it shows you received a YO. If it does, get a certificate of disposition from the clerk to prove it. If it does not and you believe it is an error, you have to order the plea and sentence minutes minutes and if it shows you did receive it or were promised it, you have to reopen the case.
