Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
hired lawyer and retainer payment was 3,500,on OCT.16,2010
paid1,500 and case is still pending.Hired another lawyer.Am I entitled to part of 1500 back.
or do I owe additional on 3,500 retainer

Your former lawyer would have to justify more than $1500 worth of work to be entitled to bill you for more money.If he cannot justfy $1500 worth of work you are entitled to a refund. Ask him for an itemized bill.
