Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
is this illegal
ok basically, off of a site i was talking to this girl. She gave me her number, didnt say 2 words to her over the phone. But her mom said she was 15 not 18 and she has a husband in narcotics or something in nyc. Now lets say she tells her husband and they react quickly, is there anything that could be done to me?

Re: is this illegal
A lot of this is going to depend on what you said to her online. I do not think you should put the conversation on here. You should call a lawyer and if anyone calls you, FBI; STATE POLICE; NYC POLICE; be sure you refuse to speak to them without a lawyer. No Matter what they say, DO NOT SPEAK TO THEM WITHOUT A LAWYER.
That said, you should speak to a criminal lawyer right away. You may contact me through the information below.
Good luck and remember, do not answer any questions from anyone. Oh yeah, Lose her Number. Ignore Her E-mails and watch out who you speak to online. Don't talk about "personal matters" until you KNOW who you are speaking to. Name, age etc. and you have confirmed same. Even if you think they are playing, if they say they are undereage, then they are.
Re: is this illegal
Whether you have some potential criminal liability would depend on the nature of your conversations. In any event, if you are contacted by ANYONE about this matter you should refuse to answer any questions until you have had a chance to retain a criminal defense attorney. You should have no further contact with this girl in any way, shape or form. If she attempts to contact you I would ignore the emails/instant messages. Please feel free to contact my office if we can be of any assistance in this matter.
