Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

This incident happned in Nassau county(New York). I was charged with grand larceny for shoplifting. My attorney got a plea bargain and bought it down to misdemeanor B. This is my very first time offence. I applied for many interns and jobs and all of them rejected me. I will be graduating soon as a mechanical engineer and i am afraid that this record will haunt me for the rest of my life. I was ordered to pay a fine of 750 dollars and i did. I was also ordered to finish 150 hours of community service and i am done with it. Now , is there anyway i can get this recored sealed or expunged ? or do anything about it so that it will not effect my job application?

Thanks

you can apply for a relief from civil disabilities. That may help with some employers.

Two possible things you can do. First to go back over the original conviction and see if there was some irregularity. If there was a constitutional issue there is no time limit. The second is to apply to the State of New York for executive clemency or a Governor's pardon.
