Incorrectly filled out appearance ticket

My girlfreind recieved an appearance ticket to appear in court on charges of unlawful possesion of marijuana. The Police Officer put the wrong court date on the form. The local court has the Criminal hearings on Wednesday, and he put a Tuesday's date on the Ticket. I've heard before that if on Officer fills the form out Incorrectly, that the ticket is invalid. Is this true?
