Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
I was interested to see if New York State (the state in which I live) has any criminal record on me. On their website they say they have outsourced the process to a private company, and you have to submit your fingerprints to find out if you have a criminal record. This is very Orwellian. If your fingerprints aren't already on file, you can be sure they will be after the inquiry.
My question is this, is there any way to check my criminal record in New York without submitting my fingerprints and other biometric information?
