Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

I was issued a ticket for public urination in Brooklyn, NY tonight after walking over the Williamsburg Bridge from Manhattan, a long walk..It was Cinqo de Mayo and the police were out looking for intoxicated people, of which I was not.

I know this is a misdemeanor, but how serious a charge is this and do I have to go to court to pay this ? I don't have a record . Do I need a lawyer or can I just go in plead guilty and pay the fine ?

Without viewing the summons it is impossible to determine whether the charge is a misdemeanor or a violation. Either you must appear in person or by attorney to respond to the charges. Non appearance will result in a warrant being issued. I handle many of these cases for professionals or out of state residents who do not wish to appear personally. I do so at quite reasonable fees with an unblemished record of no misdemeanor convictions or pleas. You may contact my office @ 7188340087 for a free phone consultation.
