Does a Judge have to take action if a person admits to a crime while testifying
During a civil trial under questioning the witness admitted to using false Social Security #'s and paying someone to marry for a green card. Is it the Judges duty to report this

It depends. Normally one of the parties will do it. The court cannot have someone arrested based only on their admission. He can if he chooses put the DA on notice. Under certain circumstances public policy may dictate that a court not do that.
