what kind of punishment can i give

me and my friends were attacked the other night by some kids, i was just punched in the head from behind after 2 kids made me walk with them and said they were going to kill me to get my friends, i got a concussion, and a contusion on my jaw, my friend got punched in the face and his orbital bone fractured, he got cut up a lot, spent the night in shock trauma and none of us even touched any of those kids, we know all thier names and who they were with, also another kid punched another freind in the face for looking at him and kicked another kid in the stomach for being there not causing any serious damage to either of them, what kind of punishment can these kids get and what can we sue them for. me and my friends aare all 16, hte kids that hit us are all 18 and over

Your damages are the same as in any personal

injury, for pain and suffering, lost wages

medical, and compensation for any permanent

injury. There are no fixed amounts.

Do the civil before the criminal is over

Get the criminal to order the civil damages

as restitution so it cannot be discharged in

bankruptcy

As long as no weapon was used, they would be guilty of Assault in the Third Degree and other lesser charges, punishable by up to one year in jail. You can sue for civil damages but it may be hard to collect from them unless their parents own a home and the home owners policy covers it.
