Re: Knife in public view

Unless you violated some local ordinance particular to your hometown, you were not charged with having a knife in plain view, you must have been charged with Possession of a weapon 4th degree which is a class A misdemeanor. Assuming you are over the age of 19 you face up to one year in jail and a $1000 fine or as little as a conditional discharge. It is nearly impossible to tell you how your case will wind up without more information.

ONe thing for sure an A misdemeanor is a serious crime for which if you are smart you will retain an attorney to represent you.

Re: Knife in public view

From the information you provided the best guess is you are charged with possession of a weapon as a class "A" misdemeanor. This has a possible jail term of up to 1 year, or a fine, possible probation. It depends upon your age, your prior record and the jurisdiction. I will be happy to have a free phone consultation with you to clarify the situation further. Please call my office @7188340087.

What you need more than an answer is an attorney experienced in these types of misdemeanor crimes so that you have the best chances possible of reducing the charges filed against you and maybe even getting them dismissed. This area of law is our specialty, and our fees are very reasonable, however, we would need some more information before making a complete and proper determination. You are welcome to contact us for a free consultation.
