Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Legality of Texas Hold'em Tournament
My friend and I are trying to raise money for The Leukemia Society. We would like to hold a Texas Hold'em Tournament. We paln to charge a $25.00 registration fee to play. These proceeds would entirely go to the organization. The buy-in to play would be $100.00 which would entirely be dispersed to the winners. We would collect nothing personally. Is this legal??

I can look into the legality of the issue and would probably be interested in playing myself. Please contact me.
