Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
lie detector in tort case
Hi,
I have a case I'd like to bring to Small Claims Court. I was assaulted.
Can I get a lie detector test and use the results as evidence to prove my case? How would someone go about obtaining a lie detector test for Small Claims Court?
Thank you very much for your time.

Polygraph's (lie detector's) are not admissible as evidence in court; they are not scientifically reliable and cannot be introduced as evidence.
