Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
limitations on child molestation
I am a victim of child molestation and was wondering what the limitations were on convicting someone. I was seven years old at the time and now I am 28, but did not remember the molestation until now. I supressed these memories for all these years. Is there somthing that I can do to bring this person to justice?

Re: limitations on child molestation
the statute of limitations is five years from when you reach your 18th birthday, so you are barred from any criminal proceedings. I only do criminal work so I am not sure if you can proceed with a suit for money damages. Check with a civil lawyer.
Re: limitations on child molestation
To my knowledge, all statutes of limitations
both civil and criminal have run.
