Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
I live in NY, not the city, and 5 1/2 years ago I took out 2 credit cards in a parents name and ran them up. WIth the credit card companies and my parents we decided no charges would be filed and I'd repay the debt. I have since done that, but everytime my parent gets mad or upset they threaten to call the police and have me arrested. Can they still press charges for this so long after and after I have repaid the debt? Thanks.

There is a five year statute of limitations which would run from the last time you used the card. If you paid them back and can prove it the police would probably not take a complaint. They are probably bluffing anyway.
