Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Hello! I live in the state of Michigan. I am a certified regular and special education teacher (Autism). In addition, I have a Masters Degree in Special Education.
I have a dark past. About 23 years ago, in the state of New York, I acquired 8 misdemeanors in a six-week time frame (Solicitation for Prostitution). I was 19 years of age. I would like them removed from my record, but New York does not do this, as of yet. I don't want to live with this nightmare any longer.
What are my options?

I am sorry to say, you do not have any options unless they were drug crimes. A new law can under very limited circumstances seal low level drug crimes after a period of time. If this is the case, you should contact an attorney in New York to start the process.

You could apply for a relief from civil disabilities. This will not seal them but it may give you some collateral benefits, along with (and maybe more importantly) more peace of mind.
Good Luck
