Relief from Civil Disabilities with respect
to employment may (not must) be granted by
a NYS Court with respect to a NYS charge

A misdemeanor or any crime always stays on the record but as time goes by, it becomes less significant.

A conviction remains on a person's record unless expunged by court order or, if the convicted person was adjudged a youthful offender and successfully completes a period of probation, the record is sealed.
