Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
How long is the statute of limitation for $1800 cash stolen from a house? Police report was filed in 2004 I believe, so it's been at least 7 years. Can an arrest still be made? I live in New York

Generally the Statute of Limitations is five years for this crime, unless the thief has been out of state during that time, then the time out of state can be added to the Statute of Limitations.
