Male Cop Search a Girl's Underwear
Both my girlfriend and I were arrested for smoking pot in my car, and the male officer handcuffed us, drove us to the station, and eventually made us change out of our street clothes into the jail jumpsuits. He said that he and his partner (also male) would have to search our clothes, and that included our underwear. He allowed us to change in private, but he searched all of our clothes, including our skirts, bras, socks, and thongs, which they seemed to be amused by, and which they told us to give to them after taking them off in the holding cell. Is this appropriate, because it seemed very violating and personally intrusive without any female officer present, (for 2 young male officers searching the unwashed panties of 2 college aged girls)?
