Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Marijuna possession conviction/job application
My son was arrested for a small packet of marijuana in New York. He paid a small fine. He is now filling out job applications and is concerned how to phrase the conviction part of the application. He does not want to lie. Is there anyway he can truthfully be misleading or phrase the words properly when answering this question? How should he answer this? Thank you

Re: Marijuna possession conviction/job application
To accurately answer your question I would need to know the exact conviction you son received for the Marijuana. There are some non-criminal and criminal charges or Marijuana. If you contact me and supply me with the Penal Law Section of his conviction I can answer your question. Even if your son was convicted of one of the criminal Marijuana sections, there still may be a way to remove the conviction from his record.
Have a good day,
