son was stopped had a crowbar and screwdriver in his car was told if he cofessed to burgulary and wrote an apology letter he could go home he is bi polar no meds and no lawyer present what now?

You do not provide enough details to answer your question. You leave too many question marks: Is your son still in custody? What was he actually charged with, if anything? Did he sign a confession? Was he on medication at the time? Was he deprived of medication? Was there any other evidence of burglary besides his confession and the tools you mentioned?

You ask, What now? My advice: now he should fight the charges.

Get him an agressive lawyer and fight the charges. A good lawyer may be able to show the court that the confession was coerced.
