Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
I'm a minor in new york city & today i got a summons for drinking in public, but the officers took my bag and looked inside of it without my consent. Do i have a case if i plead not guilty or will the judge even care or will he dismiss it? also is there any way i can plead not guilty without having my parents find out or would i have to plead guilty to prevent them from finding out?
i was carrying the beer in a brown paper bag and one of the officers took it without my permission
i told him he had no right to do that and said if he smells the can & its beer then he taking me to jail but if it isnt then i wouldnt have gotten the summons. i didnt respond & just took the summons because i didnt want anything else to be used against me.

I need to know how old you are. Assuming you are 18, then go to court and ask for an ACD, which is a delayed dismissal.
