It's an "A" misdemeanor, so it carries up to a year in jail as potential sentence. Yes, you should get an attorney. Various attorneys are willing to handle such cases for reasonable flat fees. If you are indigent, the court should appoint someone to represent you.

It is a misdemeanor with a possible year in jail or probation or a combination of the two. Therefore if you can afford one, you should retain a competent criminal defense attorney. You may contact my office @ 7188340087 for a phone consultation.
