Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Misdemeanor Charges

Would you say that misdemeanor charges on my record would significantly decrease my chances of being hired in the future? What are the odds of being declined a job opportunity because of this and how do i go about removing this from my record. Right now I have an ACD about 10 months left and I need to know if currently it states that there is something on my record becuase I have to go for an internship next year. Please let me know asap and let me know how I can remove this so it stops getting in the way of me living my life. Thanks.

Re: Misdemeanor Charges

Sometimes you may have difficulties getting employment while the ACD is still pending. I represent a number of clients in this situation. What can be done is to provide proof to the District Attorney or a letter and oftentimes they will expedite the ACD. The case would have to be re calendered.

Re: Misdemeanor Charges

an ACD is pretty much close to the best resolution you could have on a case. You did not plead guilty, so you have no record of this matter and after the allotted time the case is fully dismissed against you - the answer to your question then is that it should not affect you in the least bit. GOOD LUCK.
