Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Misdemeanor into a felony

I have a previous Misdemeanor (Petit Larceny) and have recently been charged with 3 more Misdemeanor charges pending (petit larceny, Unauthorized Use of A Motor Vehicle, and Crinimal Tresspass in the 2nd). I was told by a friend that they can make this a felony. Is that true? Can they turn my Misdemeanor charges into a felony? I would appriciate any guidance

Re: Misdemeanor into a felony

Because you have a previous Misdemeanor conviction, it does not have an impact on the severity of the charges, only on the sentencing.

What you have described in your question appear to be Misdemeanors.

Thus they cannot be upgraded to a felony.

you should contact a lawyer immediately to protect y our rights.
