Re: misdemenor case

Joel is right but you can apply for a certificate of relief from civil disabilities. This will reduce the damage you will get from having the conviction.

Good Luck.

Re: misdemenor case

If you were convicted or plead guilty for a crime in New York State, I have some bad news for you. Your record is permanent. It is yours for the rest of your life. There are only three exceptions,

1. If you were adjucticated as a youthful offender and your record is sealed.

2. If you received a disorderly conduct as a plea bargain and it was sealed.

3. A Governorial pardon.

Outside of these, you are stuck with the record you have.

If you need further assistance or wish to discuss this matter further, you can contact me at my e-mail, [email protected] or 516.746.4747.
