Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Murder in the 2nd degree

Help!

I know someone who is serving 25 years for alleged murder in the 2nd degree.

I was asked to testify in his defense a few years ago because I know he was

not in the state where the alleged crime was committed and the reason I know

this is because he was with me. At the time, I was asked if I could be a

witness for him I was expecting a child and my significant other would not

allow me to contact him. As a result of this, he was convicted of the crime

and sent to Green Haven Correctional Facility for 25 years to life. He has

spent 5 years behind bars and I have recently been in contact with him. I

wanted to know what the chances are for him getting a new trial due to 2 new

witnesses that can place him in another state at the time of the alleged

crime? I am a responsible citizen without a criminal record and a child and

I am 100% sure of his innocence. There are many people behind bars that are

wrongfully imprisoned and I would like to help. He was convicted in NY state.

Thank you ....

Re: Murder in the 2nd degree

You do not mention why the other NEW witness did not come forward five years ago.

Suggest both you and the other witness contact the innocent man and his lawyer and advise them of your willingness to testify.

Every day you delay is justice denied to an innocent man. Imagine how he must feel!
