Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
neighbor dispute/trespassing/harrassment
Since my neighbors have moved in, 7 years ago, I have had both adults and children trespassing on my property in order to retrieve balls that they hit over my fence. The ball games go on almost daily with both adults and children playing. I have asked them to please turn their games around so that the balls aren't constantly flying into my yard, spoken to them about their noise level being very high with loud outdoor stereo speakers and loud parties and that I do not want them on my property. They deny that their children throw things in my yard and the balls are not theirs! All this has gone to no avail even though police have been involved. I am told by police officers, town code enforcers, and the like that there is nothing I can do. The situation has escalated to where the adults, and their guests cheer their children on and tell them to come into my yard to retrieve balls and threaten that police have told them they may enter my yard. I would also like to enjoy my yard but can't because of noise and flying objects. Police have seen my fence, pool and dogs and continue to do nothing. Please help!

Re: neighbor dispute/trespassing/harrassment
This must be very wearing on you.
The solution is to get a court order against them trespassing. Then, when they trespass, they are violating a court order and guilty of 'contempt of court'. This the police will enforce.
