Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

The NYS Division of Parole has issued a no contact order against my husband and I. They said they issued it because I had an order of protection on him in 2006, that was dismissed by a judge in 2006. My husband lived in our house with the kids and I after the order of protection. He was incarcerated in 2007, and did 3yrs in prison and now is on 5yrs post supervision. I am a disabled veteran and this is just not fair. I had to endure lots of hardship when he went to prison, anticipating the day he came out to help me with our home, our children and just to have someone to be able to talk to. I know that parole basically has the right to do anything it wants to do, but is there anything that I could do as a poor woman. lona

first contact the parole authorities yourself and explain your situation. If they do not change the Order of Protection, you would have to bring an Article 78 proceeding in Supreme Court.
