Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

On October 22nd, 2009, I was arrested for petit larceny for less than forty dollars worth of merchandise. Instead of being arraigned, I was given a DAT for Feb. 22nd, 2010. I went to my court date but was given an orange return ticket to go back on March 1st. I went back and was given another ticket to return March 8th. I went back again but was given yet another ticket and told to return on April 9th. Is this some long runaround only to charge me with some nonsense and foul my record because of a stupid mistake? If I'd been arraigned back in October and told stay out of trouble for 6 months, I'd be almost done with this by now. What are the chances of my case being dismissed when I go back in April?

It sounds like the court paperwork was not ready on Feb. 22, 2010 and on the subsequent appearances. They have 90 days from February 22, 2010 to have the case ready, so it will not be dismissed in April. If they do offer an Adjournment in Contemplation of Dismissal (ACD) the case will take another six months.
