Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Open Container (10-125 sub B)
I received a summons for having an open container and was wondering how this will affect my record/future. I am underage. Also, I read online that for this specific summons, I can plead guilty by mail and send the court a check for $25, but when I called the local court they told me this was not true. Can anyone help me out with this? My court date is not until October and I'd really like to get this whole situation over with before then.

You will be able to resolve this ,but not until at most a week before your court date. This is due to the time span between the summons issuance and it reaching the appropriate court.
