Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
I was ordered to pay restitution by Federal Court and my probation period is about to be over. I was unable to pay off the fine in full (restitution) imposed upon us and based on my present financial situation I may not able to pay it off in the near future. Is there a settlement or any other option available to reduce the amount of debt in this situation? Thank you.

After your probation is completed you should contact the US Attorney's debt collection division in the district of conviction to arrange a payment schedule. You don't mentioned your age or whether you are entitled to any government benefits, if you are, they can garnish a portion of those benefits as well.
