Give your friend the following advice:

1) The US Army will not take him while he has an open warrant for his arrest; unless he clears this up, his only military career option is the French Foreign Legion (but then he has to learn to speak french).

2) If he wants to clear up his warrants, he should hire a criminal defense lawyer, go to court and take care of his open case(s).

Tell your friend good luck.

With the facts that you've stated it will be virtually impossible for him to get into the millitary.

If the facts are as you say it is important that he return on that warrant and see if he can be placed on probation once again, or if the time for his probation has passed see if he can be permitted to continue without having to go back into probation because of the length of time having passed, especially if he has kept out of trouble since then.
