Who owns the legal documents in a case, the attorney or client?

Who owns the legal documents in a case, the attorney or the client? Can the originals be given to the client?

The attorney owns all the work he produced and you own anything you may have given him. The attorney has to return anything you gave him if you ask for it. Any legal documents filed with the Court would have been original but you can get copies (as well as copies of everything in your file - except for anything that's marked "privileged, attorney work product", etc."). The attorney can charge you copying costs.
