Re: paralegal studies

A paralegal can be a lot of things. He or she can be a glorified secretary who is capable of writing letters, right up to someone who can draft memorandum and pleadings as well as documents. In other words the person has the training and skill to do all of the technical things a lawyer might do, but without adding the nuance that an attorney is trained to bring to the equation. Often, the Paralegal will take the technical facts and place them into documents, they will often be able to do legal research and can prepare briefs under the watchful eye of an attorney who will synthesis the cases.

It can be a great career. One should be prepared to actively participate in the career and to keep learning throughout the career, as well participating in professional organizations for paralegals. The best way to become a real paralegal is to go to college for a bachelor's degree or at least to obtain a certificate program.
