Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Petit Larceny & CPSP

If someone was charged of shoplifting and later admitted that they were going to sell the stolen property on ebay, can this case escalate and become a bigger problem than just a plain shoplifting case? The person is a first time offender, over 21, no past criminal record. Will he/she be able to get an ACD or not? The person was caught stealing at one location but had stolen from 2 other locations before he/she got caught at the 3rd location.

Re: Petit Larceny & CPSP

It would certainly be very advisable to have an experienced defense attorney representing you so that you are properly defended and all your rights preserved. More importantly it greatly increases your chance for dismissal and or substantial reduction of charges. We have substantial experience handling these types of cases, however, we would need some more information before making a complete and proper determination.
